Brad Stevens Postgame Interview | Celtics vs Rockets
  • 3 years ago
After the Celtics took a tone-setting win against Houston, Brad Stevens credited the Celtics for their ball movement, and noted Marcus Smart’s effort on defense and passing. Stevens said the team kept the offense active and was glad to see Evan Fournier heating up towards the end of the game. Brad Stevens said Robert Williams' passing, effort and interior defense have stood out in his impact on the team. Coach Stevens also gave an update on the status of Jaylen Brown after he collided knees with a Houston player, saying that Brown wasn’t able to return but Stevens has been told he’s ok.
Boston’s head coach noted that the team was playing well through their bigs, especially Robert Williams and new addition Luke Kornet. Stevens says the team wants their new additions to feel comfortable and do well, which made Evan Fournier’s breakout game all the more enjoyable. Kemba Walker was notably excited for Fournier from the bench, and Coach Stevens says that his presence and encouragement of teammates helps set a good tone and example for younger players.
