Haridwar Kumbh Mela witnesses low footfall of devotees amid surge in Covid-19 cases

Amid a surge in coronavirus cases in the country, the Haridwar Kumbh Mela commenced on April 1. This year’s Kumbh Mela witnessed a low footfall of devotees at Har Ki Pauri Ghat in Haridwar amid the Covid-19 scare. Announcements with regards to social distancing, masks are being made and sanitiser stations have been installed at the ghat. Due to the pandemic, Kumbh Mela will be held for only 30 days and will conclude on April 30.
