Didi vs Dada: All eyes on high-stakes battle in Nandigram
  • 3 years ago
In the second phase of assembly election in West Bengal and Assam, 30 and 39 seats are in the fray today while all eyes are set on the high-octane battle in Nandigram between Bengal CM and TMC boss Mamata Banerjee and her former confidante and now rival Suvendu Adhikari. Nandigram is the seat of the peasant movement of 2007 that shook the foundations of the Left Front government and unseated the 35-year-old regime while making way for the Mamata rule. After 10 years of Mamata Banerjee’s government, Nandigram has now turned into a battleground for Mamata Banerjee, who decided to challenge Suvendu Adhikari at his home turf.
