First and foremost, let me say that I absolutely detest the term "social media influencer". Influencer marketing is a real thing, but the influencer industry can be a filthy place. If you do any kind of searching about this, you find tons of articles telling you easy ways to make money online. Let me tell you two things: 1) there is no easy way to make money online and 2) if you want to become a social media influencer just to make easy money, you're doing it for the wrong reasons and there's no way we'll ever be friends.
As I mention in the video, making money doing this is a benefit. It's a benefit of all the hard work we put in. It's a benefit of the community we've created. My problem with so-called "social media influencers"--let's just cut to the chase and call them fake influencers--especially on Instagram, is that it's nearly impossible to tell whether they know what they're talking about, have any real knowledge of what they're promoting, and just have anything of value to say, in general.
