Since income from whatever source derived is included in the Income Tax Act, 1961, and supply of any service, if not specifically exempted, is taxable under Goods and Services Tax (GST), the gains from cryptocurrency (crypto) trading and services by crypto exchanges are liable to be taxable, the government said.

ऐसे तो भारत में क्रिप्टोकरंसी बिटक्वाइन पर बैन है. लेकिन अभी भी कई तरीके से बिटक्वाइन का ट्रेडिंग देश में हो रहा है. खासकर इस क्रिप्टोकरंसी का रेट काफी बढ़ गया है ऐसे में आशंका है कि इसके माध्यम से बड़े पैमाने पर हेरफर हो सकता है. लेकिन बैन लगने के बाद भी अगर कोई बिटक्वाइन से इनकम कर रहा है तो सरकार इस बात को लेकर पशोपेश में थी कि इसपर टैक्स कैसे लगाया जाए.
