Brad Stevens Weighs the Good and Bad of Marcus Smart
  • 3 years ago
Brad Stevens was interviewed postgame after the Celtics 115-109 loss vs the New Orleans Pelicans. The Celtics had fans back at TD Garden for the first time in over a year and almost pulled off a comeback. Unfortunately. They weren’t able to finish it off.
Stevens talked postgame about Evan Fournier’s struggles. Fournier ended the game with zero points and couldn't get anything going on offense. He had a false positive COVID test and was unable to join the team in OKC the other night.
He also gave his thoughts on the Celtics’ defense so far this season. Boston has been struggling on that side of the ball all season long. Stevens said he thought they were solid tonight at times, but that they haven’t been good at all this season.
The head coach also talked about the impact of COVID and having fans back at TD Garden. “It was pretty emotional for me to see it,” for Stevens. “I appreciate all the people that came.” The Celtics had around 2,500 fans at TD Garden for this one.
