Every year, villages in Assam battle with flood and its repercussions, hundreds of people are forced to leave their house and stay on roads. Six villages, having around 700-800 families, in Jorhat get badly affected due to regular floods. The rise in the water level of the Brahmaputra river leads to this situation. A larger section of these families are dependent on agriculture.
