Legendary India batsman Sachin Tendulkar credits the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the success of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav at the international level. Against England, Kishan on his debut match and Yadav on his maiden innings struck scintillating half-centuries and bagged their respective Man of the Match awards. Sachin Tendulkar says that both the players have got used to playing under high pressure in the IPL and that helped their smooth transition to international cricket.

सूर्यकुमार यादव ने पहले ही मैच में कमाल की पारी खेली. महज 31 गेंदों का सामना करते हुए उन्होंने 57 रन ठोके. इस दौरान तीन छक्के भी सूर्यकुमार यादव के बल्ले से देखने को मिले. भारत के लिए पहली बार सूर्यकुमार यादव बल्लेबाजी करने उतरे थे. और उन्होंने कमाल कर दिया. सूर्यकुमार यादव को प्लेयर ऑफ़ द मैच के अवॉर्ड से नवाजा गया. सूर्यकुमार यादव भारत के इकलौते ऐसे खिलाड़ी हैं, जिन्होंने 30 की दहलीज पार करने के बाद भारत के लिए डेब्यू किया है. इस उम्र में अक्सर कई खिलाड़ियों को रिटायरमेंट लेते हुए या फिर टीम से बाहर होते हुए देखा है. पर क्रिकेट के भगवान सचिन तेंदुलकर का मानना है कि कभी भी उम्र बाधा नहीं होना चाहिए इंटरनेशनल क्रिकेट में. अगर खिलाड़ी बढ़िया खेलते हैं तो उन्हें मौक़ा दें.
