Anti-fake news law: Gov't should review their decision, says Suhakam

The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) has called on the government to review its decision to enforce the emergency ordinance aimed at tackling "fake news"

They said the government could instead use existing laws which have undergone the Parliamentary legislative process to address hate speech or unlawful content.

And should step up its information and awareness raising campaigns to overcome inaccurate or false narratives related to the Covid-19 vaccines.
