Julie Delpy on bypassing what is expected of her in Hollywood and her latest film "My Zoe"
Julie Delpy, the actress, writer and director, discusses her latest film, “My Zoe,” in theaters February 26, which hones in on a mother’s relationship with her child when the family is thrust into a medical crisis. For Delpy, much of the film is about the decisions the mother makes for her child and showing what it’s like when a woman pushes outside of her expected role. “That's what feminism really is about to me. It's not about anything else but for women to not be what they're expected of.”

The Oscar-nominated screenwriter also opened up about writing from the perspective of being a mother. "I could kill them with my teeth," Delpy said of anyone threatening her kids.
