नए कृषि कानूनों का समर्थन करने पर कनाडा में भारतीयों को धमकियां मिलने की रिपोर्ट्स सामने आई हैं. आरोप है कि खलिस्तानी समूहों द्वारा भारतीय प्रवासियों को धमकियां दी जा रही हैं. इन रिपोर्ट्स के बाद भारत सरकार सतर्क हो गई है. सरकार ने भारतीयों की सुरक्षा का मुद्दा कनाडा के सामने उठाया है और वहां रहे भारतीय प्रवासियों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने की मांग की है.
