The government of Uttarakhand showered petals on ‘Kanwariyas’ from helicopter in Haridwar today. The petals were showered in Har Ki Pauri, which is a famous ghat on the banks of Ganges in Haridwar. Till now, around 3 crore Kanwariyas have reached Haridwar. Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj gave instructions to shower petals on kanwar yatris. While speaking to media, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Haridwar Janmejay Khanduri said, “State Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj had directed us to shower flower petals on 'Kanwariyas', it was done by the government.”
