India-China LAC Row Disengagement: Pictures Show China Pulling Back Troops, Dismantling Structures

After a standoff lasting almost ten months, India & China have finally started disengaging their troops & tanks from the banks of Pangong Lake in Eastern Ladakh. In pictures released by the Indian Army, Chinese troops can be seen removing several bunkers, temporary posts & other structures in the northern bank areas while gradually thinning down their troops in the region. 150 Chinese tanks & nearly 5,000 Chinese People\'s Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers have gone back. Reportedly it will take at least a week for the disengagement process to be completed in the North & South banks of Pangong Tso, adding that both sides are carrying out verification of withdrawal of troops & equipment. As per the agreement, China has to pull back its troops to east of Finger 8 areas in the northern bank while the Indian personnel will be based at their permanent base at Dhan Singh Thapa Post near Finger 3 in the region.
