The political underbelly of Parliament was exposed in court today as the corruption trial of ANC MP Bongani Bongo got under way. The state alleges Bongo was acting on behalf of former Eskom board members when he attempted to derail Parliament's inquiry into the state-owned enterprise in 2017. And, he reportedly offered any sum of money to make that happen. Bongo has pleaded not guilty in the Western Cape division of the High Court.
