Marian Rivera headlines her first stage play with Ateneo de Manila University's theatre company Tanghalang Ateneo.
They are set to adapt the Greek classic Oedipus Rex with Marian starring as the female version of the character Creon.
Creon, or Kreon as the character will be called in this local adaptation, is a key character to the journey of Oedipus, the king of Thebes in the original story.
In the modern take, Oedipus is the country's president with Kreon as his vice president.
Marian's stage debut is set to happen on February 22, 25, and 27, 2021.
