India has to play active role for peaceful co-existence of Indian Ocean Region countries: Rajnath Singh

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended Indian Ocean Region Defence Ministers’ Conclave. The event is taking place in Bengaluru on February 4. It is an initiative to promote dialogue to foster the development of peace, stability and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region.

Speaking at the event, Rajnath Singh said, “India, being the largest country and having a vast coastline of 7,500 km in the IOR region, has to play an active role for peaceful and prosperous co-existence of all IOR countries.” “IOR (Indian Ocean Region) conclave should focus on security, commerce, connectivity, fight against terrorism and inter-cultural exchanges among participating countries,” he added.
