Legendary singer Sibongile Khumalo has died

World-renowned musician Sibongile Khumalo has passed away, at the age of 63. The Soweto-born singer made a profound impact on South Africa and the world through her music. From humble beginnings as a music teacher, she went on to earn the Order of Ikhamanga in Silver for her contribution to arts and culture in the musical fields of jazz and opera. Musician McCoy Mrubata toured with Mam Sibongile in 2014. He was also awarded the gold medal by the Kennedy Centre International Committee on the Arts, alongside her and six others.
