A political row has started after West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that she is "also a Hindu, and is ready for a debate on Hinduism". Slamming CM Banerjee, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has questioned her on her objection to 'Jai Shri Ram' chants. Meanwhile, Karnataka deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi slammed Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray for raking up the border issue, and said that "Mumbai should be made part of the state", and urged the Centre to declare it a Union Territory until then.
