There has been a split in the farmers movement after the uproar and violence created during the Kisan Tractor Rally held on Republic Day. Bhanu Pratap Singh, the National President of the Bharatiya Kisan Union has also announced to separate himself from the movement. He said that I am so saddened by the incident in Delhi that I declare from this time that I end my organization's dharna.

गणतंत्र दिवस पर निकाली गई किसान ट्रैक्टर रैली के दौरान मचे बवाल और हिंसा के बाद किसान आंदोलन में फूट पड़ गई है. भारतीय किसान यूनियन के राष्‍ट्रीय अध्‍यक्ष भानू प्रताप सिंह ने भी खुद को आंदोलन से अलग करने का ऐलान कर दिया है. उन्‍होंने कहा कि मैं दिल्‍ली में हुई घटना से इतना दुखी हूं कि मैं इसी समय से घोषणा करता हूं कि अपने संगठन के धरने को खत्‍म करता हूं.
