Mpumalanga premier admits guilt and accept fine

Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane has done an about-turn. She's made a statement of guilt at a police station in Emalahleni, and accepted a fine. She was adamant she didn't break the law when going without a mask at Jackson Mthembu's funeral. Even Deputy President David Mabuza prompted her to cover up. She was severely criticised by South Africans. Mtsweni-Tsipane has since aplogised to President Cyril Ramaphosa and Mabuza. Under the National Disaster Management Act, a person can be fined up to R1500 for failing to wear a mask following a warning from a police officer. The Mpumalanga Premier will be isolating.
