Nia Long on “The Banker,” Hollywood and why getting paid is "not enough"

Actor Nia Long discusses her role as Eunice in the Apple original film “The Banker.” Set in the 1960s, the film follows two black entrepreneurs, played by Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson, who are running a business empire. Long spoke to the film’s message, which highlights how difficult it was for African Americans to get loans and buy property. “Oftentimes black people are taught to survive, not to succeed. This film actually shows you that you can be a part of the change if you focus on the right things,” Long said on “Salon Talks.”
