Andrew Eborn He Came He Sawed He Conquered celebrating 100 Years of Sawing A Lady in Half with David Penn.

17th January 2021 marks one hundred years since illusionist P.T. Selbit put a woman in a box on the stage of London’s Finsbury Park Empire and sawed right through the wood, creating a magical classic.

Andrew Eborn is joined by Britain’s Got Talent's David Penn, a seven times national award-winning magician and illusionist, to celebrate.

Tonight The Magic Circle will host the celebrations with a live streamed-event on Facebook from 1800 GMT.


On Sunday 17 January, The Magic Circle marks the centenary of sawing someone in half. The illusion was invented by PT Selbit, and was first performed at the Finsbury Park Empire in North London on 17 January 1921.
