The Indian cricket board has said that it would deal and communicate directly with the state associations, and not with any player agents, if any players wish to register for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for the 2021 season. The deadline for franchises to name their retentions from previous season is January 20 whereas the deadline for players without contracts to make online submission for IPL 2021 player auction agreements is February 4. The final deadline for the originals sent by post will be accepted until February 12. The mini-auction is likely to be held on February 16.

पहले रिपोर्ट्स ये आई थी कि आईपीएल का मिनी ऑक्शन 11 फरवरी को होने जा रहा है. हालाँकि, आधिकारिक तौर पर पुष्टि नहीं की गयी थी. पर अब कुछ मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स की मानें तो आईपीएल में खिलाड़ियों की नीलामी 16 फरवरी को हो सकती है. और नीलामी में अपना नाम रजिस्टर करवाने की आखिरी तारीख 4 फरवरी है. खबरों के मुताबिक बीसीसीआई ने खिलाड़ियों के ऑक्‍शन में शामिल होने के नियम भी काफी सख्‍त कर दिए हैं. अगर ऑक्‍शन में कोई खिलाड़ी व्‍यक्तिगत रूप से शामिल होना चाहता है तो राज्‍य संघों से सीधे बात करेगा. इसके लिए खिलाड़ी के एजेंट या फिर मैनेजर से किसी भी हाल में संपर्क नहीं किया जाएगा. वहीं सभी फ्रेंचाइजियों को अपनी रिटेन खिलाड़ियों की लिस्‍ट 21 जनवरी से पहले तक जारी करनी होगी. साथ ही जिन खिलाड़ियों के पास अनुबंध नहीं है, वह 4 फरवरी तक अपना रजिस्‍ट्रेशन करा सकते हैं.
