In a shocking development on January 7, National Commission for Women member Chandramukhi Devi indulged in shaming the Budaun gangrape & murder victim. She said that the woman should not have gone out in the evening or should have taken a child from the family with her to avoid the incident. Devi was a part of the two-member NCW delegation that met the victim's family and investigated the spot of the incident earlier in the day. This comes as the main accused in the gang-rape & murder case of the 50-year-old woman has been arrested in western Uttar Pradesh's Budaun, the district magistrate said on January 7. The main accused, Mahant Satya Narayan, an occultist, was arrested on January 7, while the other two men who are said to be his disciples were arrested on January 6. The brutal incident took place on January 3 when the woman had gone to a temple & was allegedly sexually assaulted & killed by the three accused.
