Coronavirus: Alberta premier backtracks on response to pandemic travel scandal

After saying he will not sanction anyone in his government for pandemic travel, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has now accepted the resignations and demotions of several MLAs who left Canada for the holidays.

An Alberta family who had to cancel their Make-A-Wish vacation to Hawaii due to the COVID-19 pandemic says they are “very hurt” over the recent UCP travel controversy.

“It was a kick in the teeth. I couldn’t believe it,” said Lia Lousier, the mother to nine-year-old Braeden.

Heather Yourex-West reports on the outrage that's led Kenney to backtrack his response.

Plus, more Canadian federal MPs in Ottawa have come into the spotlight, after they were revealed to have travelled outside Canada against public health advice during the COVID-19 pandemic.
