영국-EU, 브렉시트 후 미래관계 협상 타결

EU member states have given a green light to the new trade and security arrangements between the bloc and the UK,... paving the way for them to take effect in the New Year.

Kyung-eun, what's the latest?
Mok-yeon, EU nations have unanimously approved the provisional application of the post-Brexit trade deal with the UK.
The official writing procedure will be completed on Tuesday.
The agreement covers a wide range of policies on trade and cooperation,... after Britain leaves the EU single market and customs union on January 1st.
That would end nearly 50 years of UK membership of the bloc.
The European council president, Charles Michel, expressed hope of enhancing cooperation.
And British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said,... the deal would be a “new starting point for our relationship, between sovereign equals".
The two sides will now move forward on the ratification process.
The UK Parliament will vote on the deal on Wednesday.
And the European parliament is expected to ratify the deal early next year.
