The U.K. has identified yet another new strain of COVID-19 linked to South Africa.
Britain's health secretary revealed Wednesday that two new variants have been detected,... adding that both are contacts of people who returned from South Africa recently.
Health authorities say this new variant is even more transmissible than the other and appears to have mutated further than the other variant that was earlier discovered in the U.K.
As a result, more parts of Britain are set to be placed under the highest level of lockdown.
New travel restrictions with South Africa have also been imposed.
