Biltong industry estimated to worth R2.4bn

South Africa’s biltong industry is estimated to be R2.4 billion per year and more and more foreign buyers are warming to it. That, some believe, makes it high time for biltong to claim geographically indicated product status, as rooibos and Karoo lamb already have – but as Business Insider has reported that's a little tricky.
