Nova Scotia premier fights back tears while discussing search for crew of missing fishing boat

Speaking to reporters on Thursday morning, Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil fought back tears as he reflected on the incredibly difficult year his province has faced - the latest blow coming in the form of news that six families in the province may have to cope with yet another loss following the sinking of a scallop dragger Tuesday. "This has been a year like none other," a visibly shaken McNeil told reporters. "The level of sadness and death this province has experienced has been unbelievable." The Nova Scotia RCMP says it is temporarily suspending the search for the remaining five fishers who went missing off the coast of Nova Scotia after their scallop boat sank on Tuesday. The 15-metre Chief William Saulis floundered northeast of Digby amid heaving, three-metre waves pushed by 40 km/h gusts and an unusually high tide. The body of one man was recovered late Tuesday, but the search continued Wednesday for five other men as ground search crews said they were seeking closure for the families
