The European Union has agreed to move forward with its budget plan and stimulus package after convincing Poland and Hungary to lift their vetoes. The agreement was reached Thursday at a meeting in Brussels. This allows the EU to carry out its historic 1-point-8 trillion euro budget and economic recovery fund from 2021 to 2027. Poland and Hungary initially opposed the move over concerns they could lose access to those resources due to a clause that made the EU funds conditional.
