The Canadian Kennel Club and animal shelters are reporting record levels of pet adoption applications this year. After being on a waiting list for a service animal for more than four years, one family decided to try to find a dog that they could train themselves during a Covid-19 lockdown. An ad for a Labrador-Retriever on Canadapups.com, however, turned out to be a scam that cost McKenzie Can$300 (US$232).
