China successfully lands Chang’e 5 probe on moon to collect lunar samples

China successfully landed the Chang’e 5 probe on the moon’s surface on December 1, 2020. The probe’s moon lander and ascender vehicle touched down near the peak of Mons Rümker, a mountain in the Oceanus Procellarum region of the moon, state media reported. It aims to collect about 2kg (4.4 pounds) of lunar surface samples and bring them back to Earth.
