Salinas grandes en la provincia de Santiago del Estero - Argentina 1992

  • hace 3 años
Santiago del Estero: Image of three men arriving in a cart pulled by mule to playon de obrador. Workers traveling by railway wagon. Section with railway rails. Images of the men working in the large salt flats extracting the salt and placing it in mining wagons. Boy with rubber band throwing at the birds. Man throwing water on his neck from the intense heat.
Location: The Salinas Grandes, form the greater part and the nucleus of the geographically called Saliniana Basin since they occupy the base level of a vast endorheic basin with little drainage and little humidity that marks one of the perceptible southern limits (the southwest) of the Chaco Southern. Such an endorheic basin extends through the northwestern confines of the Argentine province of Córdoba, where it indicates a sort of interprovincial ecological line; the southeast of La Rioja, the south-southeast of the province of Catamarca and the southwest of the province of Santiago del Estero. Currently, the boundary lines between the provinces reviewed form a geodesic polygonal that seeks to approximate the lowest lines and points of the Salinas Grandes basin.
