Pope Francis appointed 13 new cardinals at a ceremony in the Vatican on November 28, 2020. One of them was Wilton Gregory, the first African-American to hold the position. Among the 13 new cardinals, nine of them are under 80. They will be eligible to vote at future papal elections.
