BJP has choosed Sushil Kumar Modi for the Rajya Sabha by-election in Bihar. There was strong speculation that the BJP may send former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who has been denied a berth in the new state cabinet, to the Upper House before accommodating him in the Union cabinet. The Rajya Sabha seat was fell vacant after the October 8 demise of Ram Vilas Paswan, founder of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).
