The government has expanded the Employee Provident Fund Account 1 withdrawals, to include those whose income have been reduced this year.

Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said this includes for those who have experienced salary cuts, or are no longer able to generate additional income by working overtime.

Those who are no longer active contributors, are working in informal sectors that are affected may also make withdrawals.

Contributors who were allowed to withdraw up to RM9,000 are also allowed to withdraw up to RM10,000 now.
