The Bihar assembly has got a new speaker amidst heavy opposition from the opposition. BJP MLA Vijay Kumar Sinha has been elected as NDA candidate. The Mahagathbandhan had fielded RJD MLA Awadh Bihari Singh in front of him. There were 126 votes in favor of Vijay Sinha. 54-year-old Vijay Sinha is an MLA from Lakhisarai seat. He has won the election for the third consecutive time in Lakhisarai seat. In 2015, when RJD and JDU contested elections, Vijay Sinha's dominance in Lakhisarai continued and he won on BJP ticket.

विपक्ष के भारी हंगामे के बीच बिहार विधानसभा को नया स्पीकर मिल गया है. एनडीए उम्मीदवार के रूप में उतरे BJP विधायक विजय कुमार सिन्हा स्पीकर चुन लिए गए हैं. उनके सामने महागठबंधन ने आरजेडी विधायक अवध बिहारी सिंह को उतारा था. विजय सिन्हा के पक्ष में 126 वोट पड़े.54 साल के विजय सिन्हा लखीसराय सीट से विधायक हैं. लखीसराय सीट पर वो लगातार तीसरी बार चुनाव जीते हैं. 2015 में जब आरजेडी और जेडीयू ने मिलकर चुनाव लड़ा तो उस स्थिति में भी विजय सिन्हा का दबदबा लखीसराय में कायम रहा और उन्होंने बीजेपी के टिकट पर जीत हासिल की थी.
