At the time of Dwaparyug, when Lord Krishna was born in the earth, then the gods and goddesses changed as they started coming to the earth from time to time. In this race, where Lord Shiva was going to stay behind, he also looked forward to come to earth to meet his beloved God. But he stopped for a moment thinking that if he was going to meet Krishna, he should also take some gifts with him. Now they started getting upset thinking that which gift should be taken which may be dear to Lord Krishna and he will always be with them.

द्वापरयुग के समय जब भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने धरती में जन्म लिया तब देवी-देवता वेश बदलकर समय-समय पर उनसे मिलने धरती पर आने लगे। इस दौड़ में भगवान शिवजी कहां पीछे रहने वाले थे, अपने प्रिय भगवान से मिलने के लिए वह भी धरती पर आने के लिए उत्सुक हुए। परन्तु वह यह सोच कर कुछ क्षण के लिए रुके की यदि वे श्री कृष्ण से मिलने जा रहे तो उन्हें कुछ उपहार भी अपने साथ ले जाना चाहिए। अब वे यह सोच कर परेशान होने लगे कि ऐसा कौन सा उपहार ले जाना चाहिए जो भगवान श्री कृष्ण को प्रिय भी लगे और वह हमेशा उनके साथ रहे।
