Chinese President Xi to visit Seoul first once pandemic calms down

Chinese President Xi Jinping will be the first world leader to visit South Korea once the pandemic calms down.
That's what the Chinese ambassador to South Korea, Xing Haiming, said Wednesday at a forum hosted by his embassy.
He declined to comment, however, on media reports that Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi plans to visit Seoul next week.
In his remarks, Xing said that regardless of the leadership change in the U.S., China will remain committed to peace and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.
