OTT Platforms Will Now Be Regulated by the Govt: What You Should Know

We millennials just love binge-watching our favorite series or movies on any OTT platform. Until recently, this new media was devoid of any restrictions. However, OTT platforms have now come under the I B Ministry.
A new order issued by the Central Govt. has declared that online films and audio-visual programs made available by online content providers, and online news and current affairs content will now come under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar will now be governed by the I B Ministry headed by Prakash Javadekar.
