UK condemns China for breaching bilateral treaty after Hong Kong legislators disqualified
  • 3 years ago
The UK has accused China of breaching the 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration on Hong Kong a third time. The condemnation from Nigel Adams, British junior foreign minister, was in response to a resolution passed November 11 by the mainland’s top legislative body. Beijing’s move paved the way for Hong Kong authorities to disqualify four opposition lawmakers without having to go through the city’s courts. Video source: Reuters/UK Parliament TV
