And because of this, sales of kichen appliances like dishwashers and microwaves have surged.

"We've been eating a lot at home and thought it would be convenient since there are a lot of dishes to do."
Large 12-person dishwashers used to be the norm, ...but smaller ones for three-or-four-person households have become popular recently.
"With increased time at home, more customers are looking for appliances that can help them with the housework. Dishwashers for six are popular because they're easy to install."
Sales of a six-person dishwasher, launched earlier this year, ...have risen by an average 40 percent per month.
Total dishwasher sales are also on the rise.
Sales in the third quarter of this year more than doubled compared to the previous year.
Smaller kitchen appliances like microwaves and air fryer ovens are also selling well, ... and sales of food waste disposers increased eight-fold compared to the previous year.
The popularity of appliances also boosted sales of related articles.
Sales of paper foil for air fryer ovens rose by nearly 40 percent in September compared to the previous month, ...and sales of microwave cleaning products rose by over 30 percent in the first half of this year compared to last year.
The industry expects the trend to continue, ...and there are plans to expand the market through online distribution channels.
