Mother loses a job in the pandemic; Mumbai teen takes to selling tea to help sisters attend classes

With Child Labour being illegal in India, this 14-year-old boy resorted to selling tea after his mother lost her job due to the Covid-19 lockdown. Subhan makes tea sells it in the
nearby areas of Bhendi Bazar, Mumbai. He sells tea to ensure that his sisters' online classes go well. Subhan's father had passed away when he was just 2 years-old. Since then, his mother was
the only breadwinner for the family. As per Census 2011, the total child population in India in the age group (5-14) years was 259.6 million. Of this, 10.1 million kids were working, either as ‘main worker’ or as ‘marginal worker’.
