Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah took oath as Lok Sabha MPs on June 17. This was the maiden session of the 17th Lok Sabha. As the Leader of the House, Narendra Modi was the first to take the oath as member of the lower house. Congress President Rahul Gandhi also took oath for the fourth consecutive term of the lower house.
