Sant Kabir Jayanti 2019: Know the History and Significance of the Day

Sant Kabir Jayanti is being observed on June 17 this year. It marks the birth anniversary of Kabirdas, a renowned poet, saint and social reformer. Kabirdas conveyed the true meaning of life with his simple writings. Kabirdas Jayanti is usually observed in the month of May or June every year as per the Gregorian calendar. People read his poems to celebrate the day. Reportedly, major part of Kabir’s work was collected by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev. His writings are a apart of the Guru Granth Sahib.
