Kalki, also known as Kalkin or Karki is the future tenth incarnation of Hindu Lord Vishnu at the end of Kali Yuga. In the Vaishnavism cosmology, Kali Yuga is explained as one of the four periods in the endless cycle of existence. During Kalki Jayanti, special puja is organised in Vishnu temples across the country. Devotees follow age-old traditions and some even keep fasts on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Kalki. Kalki Jayanti 2019 falls on August 5.
