Crime Branch of Delhi Police busted interstate illegal gun-running racket and arrested arms supplier. A credible information was received crime branch that one person namely Irshad Khan is actively involved in supplying illegal semi-automatic pistols in Delhi/NCR region and he procured a huge quantity of arms which he used to deliver near Ghazipur. On this information, a team special team was constituted. The team laid a trap and smugglers car was traced. He was identified by the secret informer. When police party signalled the car to stop, the driver accelerated the car and tried to run away but was tactfully apprehended. During search of the car, 40 semi-automatic pistols, 20 spare magazines and one improvised carbine were recovered. This huge cache of arms was hidden in the CNG cylinder fitted in the boot of the car. Further investigation in the case is underway.
