Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Aaditya Thackeray To Debut, Congress Releases List Of 51 Candidates

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are around the corner and parties are busy deciding on the candidates. Reportedly, BJP will keep 144 seats, Shiv Sena 126 and 18 for the smaller allies. While the Chief Minister will be from the BJP, the Shiv Sena will get the post of Deputy Chief Minister. The Congress party on Sunday, September 28 released a list of 51 candidates. The important names include former chief minister Ashok Chavan from the Bhokar constituency and state party chief Vijay Balasaheb Thorat from Sangamner. Reportedly, as per the new agreement, Congress will contest 135-138 seats and the NCP will contest 122-125 seats. The remaining 38 seats will be left for the smaller allies. The Assembly elections are all set to take place on October 21 and the results will be out on October 24
