Italy Surpasses China In Coronavirus Deaths: 3,405 Deaths Registered, Infections Up At 41,000

Italy’s fatality rate due to the highly contagious coronavirus has reached 3,405 as of March 19. That is 150 more than China, which has seen 3,250 deaths ever since the first infection was recorded in November 2019. The total number of infections in Italy is at 41,000 but correspondingly in China, the infections are at 81,000. The key difference between the spread and the impact of COVID-19 is the population size as Italy has a population of 65 million while China has a population of 1.2 billion people.
