Coronavirus In India: Cases Near 500 But WHO Says India Can Show The Way To Tackle COVID-19 Spread

Coronavirus cases in India have surged to 491 on March 24, an increase of 70 cases overnight. The first case of COVID-19 in North-east states was confirmed in Manipur. The majority of the country is under a lockdown with 30 states including Delhi, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Assam, Uttarakhand under a curfew to contain the spread of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation has referred to India’s track-record in the past on fighting Polio to help show how the CORONAVIRUS Pandemic too can be tackled through an intense network on the ground.
